Very Rude Building Names Found in Tokyo

You do find the silliest names attached to buildings in Japan.  Here are two of them I received recently from my pals.

The SOB building

The sign reads “Owner’s Build Naka Itabashi”.  I hope it is not a comment on the kind of guys who live there. Can you just imagine telling this address to your American friend?

Lamb Raisin Ice Cream

When it comes to culinary inventiveness (or creating plain crazy tastes), no one can top those Japanese people.

Michelin-starred UK chef Heston Blumenthal may have created the infamous “Egg and Bacon” ice cream few yeas’ back but have a look at this snapshot of an ice cream shop in Japan.  They have Lamb Raisin Ice Cream!!!

This is the End… My Only Friend, the End…

This is a traffic sign found in Fukuoka City in Japan. In Japnese it actually says “Dead End” or “Cul-de-Sac”

Thanks Hakata-man for sending in this picture :)

Oh, Doctor! Please Be Gentle With Me…

This is a sign outside a dental clinic in Ikebukuro, Tokyo. It reads “YELL DENTAL CLINIC” in big, friendly letters. All I can say is that I’m glad this isn’t my local dentist.

Bi King Whopper – Free Burgers at Burger King in Japan!

Bi King Whopper - Free Burgers at Burger King in Japan!

Apparently in Japan,  Burger King is offering ALL YOU CAN EAT Whoppers until October 15th in the “B”i King campaign!

Order a set with fries and a drink and for 30 minutes you can stuff yourself with Whoppers to your heart’s content.  Here is a link to their site if you are wondering.

“So the King is a Queen?”, you may ask. Well, not really.  This sort of all-you-can-eat type buffet is called “VIKING” down there – and they tend to pronounce the word as “baikingu” – hence the play on words.  Still, it’s funny though.
